2026 calendar of Caldbeck in the Northern Fells, Cumbria in the Lake District.
• The calendar is A3 size when open (image size is A4 and calendar dates are A4).
• Printed on 250gsm heavy-weight silk paper. Hole punched to hang the calendar which is wire-bound to ensure the calendar sits flush against the wall.
• Important dates are marked throughout the year, along with other nature & wildlife notable dates such as World Wildlife Day & National Day of Forests.
• Sent in calendar mailer with stiffener, to ensure it is not damaged during transit.
£1.00 from the sale of each calendar is being donated to the Penrith Swift Group which was formed in 2022 and registered as a charity in 2025. The group’s aims are to raise awareness of swifts’ decline, encourage preservation of natural nest sites and the installation of artificial nest bricks and boxes in North Cumbria. They are grateful to the Men in Sheds in Caldbeck who made their first 100 nest boxes. They have now distributed 370 boxes, some of which are starting to be occupied by swifts. In addition many are used by sparrows which are also a red listed bird, plus occasionally blue tits and even house martins. They attend shows, give talks, run swift themed craft sessions and go into schools to tell children about swifts. They also talk to developers and request the installation of swift bricks in all new homes. . They are starting to see results with one large developer including 196 swift bricks in their plans.
