Rannerdale Valley • The Lake District • Cumbria • Giclée Print

from £23.00
There is story about this valley which dates back to the 11th century. A battle was fought between the native Cumbrians & Norsemen and the invading Normans. When I was taking this capture, I couldn’t help but visualise that battle. As the morning light broke through on to the mist below creating the awesome rays of light, I could almost hear the battle cries in the distance. I often think about how these views have changed very little, if at all over the centuries and people that have stood in the same spot and their ancient eyes have gazed upon the same view.
