Vista from Blencathra
The view from the summit of Blencathra has to be one of my favourite views of the Lake District. During this ascent the cloud was thick and no light was breaking through. I wanted to make it up there with an hour before the sun was due to set. Not knowing what to expect and with the cloud being so thick I didn’t have very high hopes for goods views or any compositions, buy on I went. With not far to go the bank of cloud that had covered me began to move away and was followed by scattered clouds with amazing structures. I waited in hope that I would get some light on the edge pointing west with the view over to Grisedale Pike. I had my tripod set and ready and then everything came together. It is so rewarding to not only climb a peak like Blencathra but then to capture a special moment like this. I had a skip in my step during my descent!
